Christine Davis Smaellie
How Can I Keep from Singing?!
Christine Davis Smaellie is a professional violinist, currently serving as Violin Principal in the Orchestra at Temple Square, a position and calling she has held since 2003. She is grateful to be able to express her love of and faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ through the music she performs with the Tabernacle Choir every Sunday during Music and the Spoken Word.
She has maintained a private violin studio for 45 years, along with performing in other symphonies, studio work and professional gigs. She is an accomplished musician who has served as Ward Organist, Pianist, Primary Chorister and Ward Choir Director throughout her life. Christine is also a published composer of choral and string compositions and arrangements, including several orchestral LDS hymn arrangements which have been performed throughout the world.
Christine’s greatest accomplishment is her beautiful family of four children, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild whom she shares with her late husband, Britton Davis. Together they have performed a wide variety of orchestral, instrumental, and vocal works over the years, which now continue with the next generation.
Christine resides in Salt Lake City with her husband, Doug Smaellie. Together they share 7 children, 17 grandchildren and an adorable first great grandchild.

Integrating scripture, testimony and audience participation we will focus on how music and hymn text strengthens our faith and relationship with God and Jesus Christ as well as strengthening ourselves, families and loved ones.
