Elder Nathan and Holly Sharp

Elder Nathan Y. Sharp was named an Area Seventy and a member of the Eleventh Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2026 general conference. He and his wife, Holly Carroll Sharp, reside in College Station, Texas, where they have lived since 2007. Elder Sharp has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Korea Seoul West Mission, bishop, high councilor, and stake president. Sister Sharp served in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission, and she has served as a ward missionary, Sunday School teacher, ward Primary president, Young Women’s class adviser, and as a counselor in the ward Young Women’s presidency.

Sister Sharp studied nursing at Utah State University and is a registered nurse. Elder Sharp earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both in accounting, from Brigham Young University. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Upon graduating, he joined the faculty at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, where he has taught classes in the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs. He has served as the Dean of Mays Business School since 2023.

Elder Sharp was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sister Sharp was born in Lompoc, California, when her father was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base near Santa Barbara. The Sharps were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 2003 and are the parents of five children.
