What If This Isn’t How Your Story Was Supposed to Go?

Kim Patten is the host of the Freedom of Enough podcast, author of Pivot: A Practical Guide for the Transition from Career Woman to Full-Time Mom, and a speaker passionate about helping women navigate life’s unexpected transitions with faith, courage, and purpose.
Kim’s own story has been shaped by a series of profound pivots. After a childhood marked by trauma, she enrolled at Brigham Young University, where she studied business and converted to Christianity, beginning a faith journey that would transform how she understood identity, love, and worth. She later earned an MBA, but after graduate school, she found herself starting her career at just $15 an hour.
From there, Kim built a successful corporate career, eventually serving in leadership at a Fortune 500 company. Her life continued to evolve through divorce, remarriage, motherhood, and one of her most defining pivots: stepping away from the career she had worked so hard to build to become a full-time mother.
That transition challenged her identity, priorities, and definition of success and ultimately inspired her to write Pivot.
Today, Kim draws on her personal, professional, and spiritual journey to encourage women to trust God through life’s changing seasons, release the pressure to prove their worth, and recognize that even the chapters they never planned can hold purpose. Through it all, she has discovered a truth that now anchors her work: we don’t have to earn our worth. We are already enough, already loved, and already worthy in God’s eyes.
