Dr. Shelby Clark
Tending Your Flame: Preventing Burnout and Building Resilience Amid Life’s Demands

Dr. Shelby L. Clark is an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, where her research focuses on trauma-responsive care, burnout, and resilience. As a scholar-practitioner, she brings both clinical experience and research training to her work, with the goal of helping organizations support the people who do the important work of caring for others.
Outside of her academic work, Shelby is a wife and mom to two daughters. She's served in several callings in the Church, including in the Young Women's, Primary, and Relief Society organizations. Teaching Relief Society remains her favorite calling by far. In her free time, you'll usually find her outside on a walk, curled up with a book, baking bread, or enjoying time with her family.
About this class
Life is full of opportunities to share our light with others. However, sharing our light without becoming burned out can be challenging. This session will focus on how we tend to our well-being so that we can engage in our family life, church service, and other demands without overextending ourselves.
