Suzanne Geiger
The Light We Choose: How Christ Transforms Us in Darkness
Suzanne obtained an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and then a master’s degree in social work with an emphasis in mental health from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDRIA Certified Therapist, with experience in multiple areas of the mental health field. She has worked at inpatient mental health hospitals and outpatient mental health facilities performing intake assessments and conducting group and family therapy.
Suzanne currently has her own practice where she specializes in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. She is an Approved Consultant for the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) where she provides consultation for clinicians looking to become an EMDRIA Certified Therapist. She has completed advanced training in using EMDR therapy to treat anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, complex trauma, and early childhood trauma.
Suzanne has served in multiple areas of the Church, including Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations. She currently serves as a seminary teacher in the Lewisville Texas stake.
Suzanne and her husband James are the parents of five children and have made DFW their home for the past 27 years.
About this class
When we are in our darkest times, it can be difficult to see the Savior, let alone recognize His presence in our lives. This session will focus on what we know about the nature of God and intentional strategies for being able to see how He is transforming us even in the hardest times.
